Artist Statement

His interpreted landscapes are found in the discarded vehicles and abandoned buildings from eastern Montana to the west coast. Like Michelangelo freeing the figures trapped in the marble, he feels like he needs to expose the beauty hidden in the waste. In addition to his personal practice, Nelson has plied his skills for the MSU newspaper, the Exponent.
