Exhibit by Bruna Massadas
Mountain Pose is an exhibition of visual mantras: I am a mountain. I am solid. I am grounded. After many dramatic changes in my life, including the birth of my son, mantras like these have helped me cope with a world of impermanence.

Artist Statement
The term “mountain pose” has two meanings. In one sense, it’s the name of a grounded position I often use when I’m seeking a brief moment of meditative silence. In another sense, the imagined mountains in these paintings are posing for me: much like sitters for a portrait, they have stilled themselves in my mind so I could capture them. These paintings are portraits of the quietest parts of my consciousness.
