Artist Statement

Each painting begins from a place of realism but evolves past that into an idealized and personalized version of the place or item, combined with patterns and symbols of my own identity and the identity inherited from my parents who moved to the US from Ireland and Japan.

By blending the beauty of these places with cultural motifs, I invite viewers to connect with themes of heritage and place, encouraging them to reflect on their own connections to the world around them.
