This Week at the Emerson – 11.20.24

Hello Friends,

Don’t miss these upcoming events and classes:

– GIRL WINTER FILM TOUR –
Join us on Thursday for a night of women-centric short ski films with Girl Get After It and Sisters in Snow! No more waiting three, four, five or ten years between women’s ski films! We’ve picked a few of our favorites debuting this fall for you to snack on. Learn more online.

– VERGE THEATER PRESENTS: LYSISTRATA –
It’s 411 B.C., and the women of Greece are tired of the never-ending, all-consuming Peloponnesian war. Tired of the men being away and the strain of conflict, Lysistrata devises a bold and clever plan: all women must withhold intimacy from their husbands and lovers until peace is achieved. While the women strike, chaos ensues as the men, desperate for intimacy, struggle to maintain their authority and think clearly. Learn more online.

– RED RIBBON BALL –
Please join AIDS Outreach this Friday as we recognize World AIDS Day. Come and partake in food, music and a fabulous silent auction with merchandise and services courtesy of generous local businesses. Learn more online.

– CURRENT EXHIBITS –

NAPTIME
By Jane Herzog, Carly Sheen, Tuk Vaughankraska & Angela Yonke
Close your eyes and drift to sleep. Let the collective unconsciousness wash over you. Dream beneath layers of thread and fabric. Possibilities and alternate realities await you.

THERE IS A SEASON
By Madison Perrins
These paintings were guided by an appreciation for the singular energy each season of life can bring to the outer and inner landscape.

With gratitude,
Susan Denson-Guy
